Hyderabad becomes India’s leading GCC destination, overtaking Bengaluru

Hyderabad has moved ahead of Bengaluru to become India’s top city for Global Capability Centres. A new study by UnearthInsights shows that between January and November this year, Hyderabad accounted for 46 per cent of all newly established centres, while Bengaluru recorded 33 per cent, according to a report.

Across the same period, a total of 85 to 95 centres were set up across the country. More than 41 of these were in Hyderabad, while over 30 were in Bengaluru, as stated in the report.

The study notes that Hyderabad’s growth as a centre for capability units is supported by cost efficiency, strong infrastructure and a favourable business environment, as per report. Major global firms such as Vanguard, StarRez, T Mobile and Goodyear have opened new units or expanded their existing operations in the city, according to the common source.

This trend highlights Hyderabad’s increasing appeal as more than a back office location. It is now seen as a centre for innovation and strategic work. The city’s infrastructure and supportive business climate continue to attract global organisations that are looking to build or expand their presence in India.
