CBI arrests MCD Deputy Commissioner in bribery case in Delhi

In a fresh anti-corruption action, the Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a deputy commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi in connection with an alleged bribery case in Delhi.

According to officials, the arrest was made following allegations that the officer demanded and accepted a bribe in exchange for extending official favours. The agency acted after receiving inputs about the suspected illegal transaction and initiated a trap operation.

The CBI caught the official during the operation, leading to immediate arrest. Further searches were also conducted at associated premises as part of the investigation.

Authorities stated that the case involves misuse of official position for personal gain. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge as the probe progresses.

The action is part of continued efforts by the CBI to curb corruption within public institutions and ensure accountability in governance.
