Bryan Batista Appointed as Skyscanner’s New Chief Executive Officer

Wishing Mr. Bryan Batista greater responsibilities and exciting challenges in this impressive new chapter!

Skyscanner has embraced a fresh leadership chapter with the elevation of Bryan Batista as its new Chief Executive Officer. This transition follows the departure of John Mangelaars, who gracefully exits after four and a half impactful years at the top. Batista’s rise to the CEO post comes at a time when the company is preparing to spread its wings further, deepen its offerings, and plant deeper roots in new corners of the world.

Since January 2024, Bryan Batista has served as Skyscanner’s Chief Operating Officer, where he played a vital role in refining operations and fueling strategic momentum. His contributions have been instrumental in aligning the company’s core vision to make global travel more seamless and accessible.

Batista’s professional journey reads like a roadmap of innovation and leadership. Before joining Skyscanner, he held several senior roles at Booking.com, including Senior Vice President of Trips and CEO of Rentalcars.com, where he directed the global transport segment and crafted end-to-end travel solutions. His earlier career saw him shaping customer experiences at Tesla Motors across Europe and the United States and sharpening business strategies during his time at McKinsey and Company.

Speaking on the leadership change, former CEO John Mangelaars expressed his confidence in Batista’s stewardship, noting, “Skyscanner is well-positioned for its next phase of growth.” Looking ahead, Batista’s leadership will steer Skyscanner toward expanding its reach into new markets and extending its services into rail and travel packages, all while staying true to its promise of delivering smarter tools and richer travel choices for explorers worldwide.

Bryan Batista now carries the torch forward, determined to guide Skyscanner through its next great voyage — one filled with innovation, ambition, and the desire to make travel dreams more attainable than ever.
