Fresh reports suggest that Apple is fast-tracking the development of three artificial intelligence-powered wearable devices as competition in the AI hardware space intensifies. The company is said to be working on a small AI pendant, smart glasses and upgraded AirPods, all designed to strengthen its position against rivals racing to launch similar products.
According to a recent report by a media outlet, Apple is developing an AI wearable similar in size to an AirTag. The device is described as a pendant with built-in cameras that can be pinned to a user’s shirt. Alongside this AI pin, Apple is also accelerating work on its smart glasses, internally code-named N50. These glasses are expected to include a high-resolution camera and enhanced AI capabilities.
The smart glasses project appears to be moving quickly. The report states that Apple is “targeting the start of production as early as December, ahead of a public release in 2027.” The company faces strong competition in this segment from Meta, which has already seen success in the smart glasses market and Snap, which plans to release its “Specs” later this year. Apple’s glasses are described as “more upscale and feature-rich” compared to the AI pendant and AirPods.
In addition, Apple is reportedly working on new AirPods with upgraded AI features. All 3 devices are expected to connect seamlessly with the iPhone and rely heavily on Siri for user interaction. Siri is likely to play a central role in delivering voice-based AI experiences across these wearables. Apple has not officially confirmed the developments, but the move signals a broader push into AI-driven consumer hardware as global tech companies compete to define the next generation of smart devices.
