Apollo appoints Gina Gill as its new chief information officer

Gina Gill has been named the new chief information officer (CIO) of insurance company Apollo, with immediate effect.

Gill will report to group chief executive David Ibeson after joining from the Cabinet Office, where she served as interim chief strategy officer.

An Apollo statement said that Gill would become responsible for “driving Apollo’s continuing adoption of technology, tools and data solutions, including advanced analytic initiatives, that enable the business to achieve its strategic objectives”.

Gill was the chief digital and information officer at the Ministry of Justice before joining the Cabinet Office. She has also held top roles at the FCA, Barclays Capital, and Lloyds Banking Group that were centered on digital innovation and IT service management.

Strategic leadership

Ibeson commented: “As we continue to expand our offerings and pioneer innovative solutions for our clients, Gill’s deep expertise in digital transformation and strategic leadership across the public and private sectors will be a great asset to our team.

“We look forward to welcoming her to the Apollo team.”

Gill’s appointment comes after Apollo earlier this week (3 March 2025) named Rob Littlemore as a non-executive director.

Ibeson also mentioned Apollo’s “strategy and growth objectives” for the upcoming years after that hiring.
