Zepto begins pilot testing of Super Mall and diagnostics services to expand its quick commerce offerings

Zepto has started pilot testing two new services as it looks to expand its portfolio and enter new categories. The quick commerce platform is trialling Super Mall, a vertical for high value and premium products, and Zepto Diagnostics, an in app diagnostics service under its pharma category.

These pilots will help the company understand customer behaviour and measure demand before a full scale rollout. At present, the services are available only to selected cities and customers.

Zepto’s goal with the Super Mall pilot

According to people familiar with the development, the Super Mall vertical is designed to help the company enter higher margin categories as competition grows. It also aims to attract new customers and retain existing users. The new vertical offers non grocery items such as home decor, electronics and fashion.

Super Mall supports Zepto’s efforts to increase the average order value. The platform is providing discounts such as fifty rupees off on orders above one thousand and ninety nine rupees, one hundred and fifty rupees off on orders above two thousand two hundred and ninety nine rupees, and two hundred rupees off on orders above two thousand eight hundred and ninety nine rupees. Another platform also offers a Maxxsaver feature that gives lower prices on orders above three hundred and ninety nine rupees.

How Zepto Diagnostics strengthens the pharma category

Zepto Diagnostics is part of the Zepto Pharmacy category. For this service, the quick commerce platform has partnered with Orange Health Labs, a diagnostics provider. Users can book blood tests at home within sixty minutes, and reports are delivered in six hours. The available tests include full body checkups, complete blood count and thyroid function test, among others.
