Karnataka Bank has confirmed the appointment of Raghavendra S Bhat as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a one year period starting November 16, 2025. The announcement was made through an exchange filing.
The development comes soon after the bank declared its financial results for the second quarter of FY26. The lender reported a year on year decline of 5.06 percent in net profit. The profit figure fell to 319.22 crore rupees for the quarter ended September 2025 compared to 336.24 crore rupees in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
Bhat takes charge after serving an interim term of three months beginning July 16, 2025. He has been associated with the Mangalore based bank for four decades and has held key leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer. The bank described him as a seasoned professional with deep experience across banking and finance. It also highlighted his family background that is closely linked to agriculture, which has shaped his understanding of the sector.
His elevation follows the resignations of former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Srikrishnan Hari Hara Sarma and Executive Director Sekhar Rao earlier this year.
