GAIL India Limited is the country’s largest state owned natural gas enterprise. His appointment will take effect after approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Deepak Gupta is currently serving as Director for Projects at GAIL India Limited. In this role, he has led several major strategic and capital intensive initiatives. His leadership has supported the company’s expansion in pipeline networks, renewable energy integration, and important downstream initiatives. These efforts have strengthened GAIL’s position as a leading force in India’s natural gas industry.
In addition to his responsibilities at GAIL, Deepak holds several significant roles across the wider energy ecosystem. He serves as Chairman of Talcher Fertilizers Limited, a joint venture between GAIL, Coal India Limited, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited. Under his guidance, the company has made progress on one of India’s largest coal gasification projects.
Deepak is also a Director at South East Asia Gas Pipeline Company in Myanmar and a Director at ONGC Petro additions Limited. Through these positions, he contributes to regional energy cooperation and the growth of petrochemical diversification.
