BSE India elevates Viral Davda to Chief Information Officer

Viral has already made a strong impact in his previous position as deputy chief information officer. With more than two decades of experience, Viral brings strategic insight and deep domain expertise across the entire exchange ecosystem. His knowledge spans trading, clearing and settlement, surveillance and risk management. This makes him a key contributor to shaping the technology foundation that supports India’s financial markets.

Before joining BSE India, Viral spent more than sixteen years at a major commodities exchange where he served as chief technology officer. During that time he led several technology transformation programs that modernised systems, improved digital capabilities and enhanced platform resilience. His work also strengthened market integrity and improved technology governance across critical operations.

Viral is known for his business focused and results driven approach. Throughout his career he has emphasised the importance of aligning technology with enterprise goals to support productivity and financial performance. His strengths include digital planning, cost optimisation, cybersecurity oversight, vendor management and regulatory collaboration. These capabilities are essential for maintaining BSE’s leadership in the capital markets environment.

Earlier in his professional journey he held important roles at technology and consulting organisations, where he developed expertise in project management, business analysis and enterprise technology strategy.

As he steps into the chief information officer role, Viral is expected to focus on expanding innovation, strengthening cybersecurity and enhancing operational efficiency.
