Cognizant partners with Anthropic to scale AI adoption across enterprises

IT major Cognizant has announced a strategic partnership with Anthropic to deploy its Claude family of large language models and agentic tools across enterprise platforms and internal operations. The collaboration aims to help global businesses move from AI experimentation to measurable outcomes by integrating Anthropic’s Claude models with Cognizant’s engineering platforms and industry frameworks.

As part of the rollout, Cognizant will extend access to Claude for up to 3.5 lakh associates across its corporate, engineering and delivery teams. The goal is to boost productivity in coding, testing, documentation and DevOps workflows. Anthropic’s Claude for Enterprise, Claude Code, Model Context Protocol and Agent SDK will be embedded into Cognizant’s suite of modernisation and engineering solutions to help clients integrate AI into their data, applications and business processes.

“Enterprises are moving beyond simple productivity gains toward a more connected, agentic future,” said Ravi Kumar S, CEO, Cognizant. “By pairing Anthropic’s Claude models and agentic tooling with Cognizant’s suite of platforms and industry expertise, we will help clients build the foundations of an agentified enterprise where intelligent systems collaborate with people to accelerate modernisation and transformation.”

The initial phase of the partnership will focus on enhancing software engineering productivity, legacy system modernisation, and building industry-specific solutions. Cognizant will integrate Claude and Claude Code within its Flowsource platform to speed up software development, testing and DevOps, while applying Anthropic’s technology to streamline code transformation through its modernisation frameworks.

Both companies will also leverage Cognizant’s Neuro AI orchestration and Anthropic’s Agent SDK to develop domain-specific multi-agent systems under human supervision.

Paul Smith, Chief Commercial Officer at Anthropic, said that combining frontier AI capabilities with Cognizant’s domain and implementation expertise will accelerate enterprise adoption. “Companies require trusted AI that combines performance with safety and reliability, which is why hundreds of thousands of businesses trust Claude. We’re demonstrating this at scale by rolling out Claude to up to 3,50,000 Cognizant employees and helping our joint clients do the same,” he said.

Additionally, the partnership will focus on building responsible AI practices for safe deployment and monitoring aligned with governance standards such as MCP. Cognizant also plans to engage clients through workshops and platform integrations using Claude to identify high-value AI use cases and help them transition from pilot to production.
