Zoho has launched a significant upgrade to its note-taking application, Zoho Notebook, introducing advanced artificial intelligence features powered by its in-house AI platform, Zia.
As part of this update, the company has also expanded the free student edition to include Notebook AI, enabling students to access the same intelligent tools that are available to business users.
According to a statement by company, the new version of Zoho Notebook aims to transform how individuals and teams capture, organise, and manage information. The AI-driven update simplifies note-taking, collaboration, and knowledge management, helping users quickly find and apply relevant information.
The upgraded Zoho Notebook allows teams to work together in shared spaces organised by projects or departments. It includes a digital whiteboard that supports multiple content types such as text, drawings, and images, providing a unified space for brainstorming and idea sharing.
Zoho Notebook is now deeply integrated with other Zoho applications like Zoho CRM, Zoho Projects, and Zoho Mail. This seamless connectivity enables users to manage data across platforms efficiently, reducing the risk of data silos and improving workflow consistency.
The introduction of Notebook AI brings a range of intelligent capabilities. The Intelligent Q&A Assistant retrieves information from personal notes or generates responses on any topic. Meeting Notes converts spoken discussions into structured summaries with speaker identification, while Mind Map Generation turns lengthy documents into clear visual maps.
Additional AI-powered tools include Smart Note Creation for automatic formatting of tasks, tables, and templates, and Writing Enhancement for improving grammar, tone, and clarity. The app also offers Multilingual Voice Search and Translation across 80 global languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Oriya, and Sanskrit.
Users can further personalise their writing through the Tone and Voice Customisation feature, adjusting communication styles from formal reports to casual messages. The company also plans to integrate Notebook with Zoho Voice and Zoho CRM to automatically generate and attach meeting or sales notes within CRM records.
The enhanced features are available to all users under the Zoho One Premium licence and as an add-on for individual accounts. Notebook Essential remains free, while Notebook for Business is priced at Rs 333.25 per user per month when billed annually. Students can continue to access the AI-powered Notebook edition for free with their educational email IDs.
“Rather than forcing users to adapt to rigid software structures, Zoho Notebook moulds itself around natural workflows while providing intelligent assistance that amplifies human capability,” the release said.
