Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to feature major upgrades in display, performance and camera

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch early next year, and anticipation is already building among tech enthusiasts. A wave of leaks and rumours has surfaced about the upcoming lineup, including possible changes in model names and the potential discontinuation of the Galaxy Edge version. With so many reports emerging, here is a complete summary of what is known so far about the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.

While the entire S26 lineup is attracting attention, the spotlight remains on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is set to be the top model in the range. As Samsung’s flagship device, the S26 Ultra is expected to rival the iPhone 17 Pro Max and deliver significant upgrades across design, display, performance, and camera capabilities.

Galaxy S26 Ultra display

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature a large 6.9-inch display, using Samsung’s latest OLED technology with Quad HD resolution. The display promises improved brightness, colour contrast, and power efficiency for an enhanced visual experience. Other models in the lineup may include a 6.3-inch display for the base Galaxy S26 and a 6.7-inch screen for the S26+. These screens are likely to offer better performance than the previous generation.

Galaxy S26 Ultra performance

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, offering top-tier performance. In contrast, other models in the lineup could feature Samsung’s Exynos 2600 processor, depending on the region. This continues the company’s long-standing dual-chip strategy, where Snapdragon variants are sold mainly in North America, and Exynos versions are distributed in Europe and other global markets.

Galaxy S26 Ultra camera

The camera setup on the Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to see major improvements. Reports suggest it will include a powerful quad-camera system with an updated 200-megapixel main sensor, a new ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera offering 5x optical zoom. The fourth lens could either be a 12-megapixel 3x or a 50-megapixel 3x telephoto camera, depending on Samsung’s final configuration.

With these expected upgrades, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is shaping up to be one of Samsung’s most advanced smartphones yet, offering a premium experience in every aspect.
