Amazon on Monday announced that it has crossed the 20 billion dollar milestone in cumulative ecommerce exports from India. The company achieved this target ahead of the original 2025 goal.
Amazon has now set a new target to enable 80 billion dollars in exports by 2030 through its Amazon Global Selling programme.
The programme was launched in 2015. It has helped over two lakh Indian exporters sell more than seventy five crore Made in India products to customers in eighteen international marketplaces. These include the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Germany, and France.
The company said the total seller base on the programme has grown more than thirty three per cent in the past year.
“Since 2015, Amazon has enabled 20 billion dollars in cumulative ecommerce exports from India, including through the Amazon Global Selling programme, achieving this milestone ahead of the 2025 target,” said Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling India.
“This momentum reflects the ambition of Indian businesses and the growing role of ecommerce exports in global trade.”
Kalvapudi said the company will continue to scale its efforts to support India’s export goals.
“Building on this success, as we work towards our 80 billion dollars in cumulative ecommerce exports goal by 2030, we are focused on simplifying global selling through technology innovation, capacity building, and ecosystem partnerships,” he said.
“We remain committed to enabling India’s ecommerce export growth in line with the Government of India’s goal of reaching 200 to 300 billion dollars by 2030,” he said.
The programme currently has sellers from twenty eight states, seven union territories, and over two hundred cities in India. Categories such as health and personal care, beauty, toys, home, apparel, and furniture have seen the highest growth over the past decade with compound annual growth rates between thirty six and forty five per cent.
Exporters from states such as Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Haryana are the largest contributors.
Smaller cities including Karur, Junagadh, Erode, Anand, Haridwar, and Panipat have also recorded strong progress and crossed multi million dollar export milestones in 2024.
Sharing the impact on small businesses, Sarvesh Agarwal, Founder of HomeMonde, said, “At HomeMonde, our goal is to bring India’s artisanal craftsmanship to homes worldwide through sustainable, high quality jute rugs. With Amazon Global Selling, we have been able to study market trends, reach eco conscious buyers, and manage logistics seamlessly through Fulfillment by Amazon.”
“By promoting handmade, sustainable products at attractive prices, we are connecting global customers with authentic Indian artistry,” Agarwal said.
“Amazon’s tools and guidance help us expand confidently, ensuring every rug we sell tells a story of skill, sustainability, and India’s rich craft heritage.”
Amazon said that over the past decade, the company has invested in simplifying export processes for Indian MSMEs, including awareness about compliance, logistics, and payments.
