Telegram for iOS has received a major visual overhaul with the introduction of the new Liquid Glass interface on iPhones. Inspired by Apple’s iOS 26 design aesthetics, the refreshed look aligns the app more closely with Apple’s user interface, offering a smooth, transparent, and modern experience.
Alongside the updated visuals, Telegram has rolled out several new features across both Android and iOS, aimed at enhancing user interaction and personalisation. The company said these updates make communication more engaging, allowing users to enjoy improved group calls, better contact organisation, and enhanced profile customisation.
Liquid Glass interface for iOS
The redesigned interface brings a translucent and layered appearance to navigation bars, keyboards, and sticker panels, creating a glass-like visual effect. As reported by a common news platform, users will notice these new visuals even if their devices have not yet been updated to iOS 26. Earlier reports also suggested that WhatsApp is testing a similar design update for its iOS app inspired by Apple’s iOS 26 framework.
Comments and reactions in group calls
Telegram users can now react or comment in real-time during group calls and video chats. These quick emojis or short messages appear briefly on the screen, making it easier to interact during discussions or send silent acknowledgements while muted.
Contact notes
A new feature allows users to attach private notes to contacts, such as how they met or personal reminders. Users can also suggest birthdays when editing contact information or add their own under Settings.
Profile colour customisation
Premium users now have more control over their profiles, with access to new colour themes, collectible gift backdrops, and reply styles for a more personalised look.
Removing gift signature and improved gift interface
Telegram now allows users to remove gift signatures using Telegram Stars, giving them the choice to hide personal messages or increase the resale value of collectibles in the in-app marketplace. The gift-sending interface has also been redesigned to merge all available gifts, including those from the Gift Marketplace, into a single list. A new time-based price reduction feature will make collectibles more affordable to upgrade over time.
Blockchain gifts
Users can now display blockchain-based gifts on their profiles by linking their accounts to Fragment, ensuring verified ownership and transparency.
Bugs and suggestions Mini App
The Bug and Suggestion Platform, first introduced in 2020, is now available as a Telegram Mini App. It allows users to report bugs and suggest new features directly within the app.
