Hyderabad inaugurates India’s first Semiconductor Innovation Museum

The Technology Chip Innovation Program (T Chip) officially opened a Semiconductor Innovation Museum in Hyderabad on Sunday. This launch marks a significant stride in building India’s growing semiconductor landscape. The inauguration event brought together industry leaders, senior government policymakers, investors, and local citizens.

Now open to the general public, the museum aims to establish Hyderabad as a central hub for semiconductor innovation. It will achieve this by regularly hosting monthly demo days, global technology showcases, and investor networking opportunities.

Visitors can explore the future of chip driven technology through impressive exhibits. These include AI powered humanoid robots, robotic pet companions, India’s first indigenous AI chip, a reusable rocket engine, and next generation electric vehicle and smart display systems.

The semiconductor museum will also feature a dedicated 30 day Innovation Residency Model. This program enables startups, research institutions, and global innovators to showcase their latest work every month. The residency is designed to foster crucial collaboration by connecting these innovators directly with investors, academic institutions, and the public.

The launch event was attended by former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, along with Telangana’s Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Vakiti Srihari, several MLAs, and senior policymakers. Mr. Dattatreya lauded the initiative, calling it “a crucial addition to India’s semiconductor ecosystem.” Minister Srihari detailed the specific government policy designed to support the new initiative. The facility is expected to inspire students and boost local tech research.
