Samsung unveils Galaxy W26 in China with gold design and satellite calling

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy W26 in China, a luxury version of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. While it shares the same core specifications as the global model, the W26 is designed to offer a more exclusive and premium experience. Continuing Samsung’s long-running W-series tradition, this model represents elegance and status for elite consumers in China.

The Galaxy W26 makes a striking impression with its bold red and black finishes highlighted by elegant gold accents around the frame and camera area. These design touches enhance its sophisticated appeal without changing its size, thickness, or weight compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

One of the key upgrades is the addition of satellite calling and messaging. This feature enables users to communicate even when mobile networks are unavailable, making it useful during emergencies or in remote locations. However, the satellite function currently works only within China.

Under the hood, the W26 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and features a 200-megapixel main camera for detailed and sharp photos. It also offers 16GB of RAM as standard, which is higher than the regular Fold 7 model. The foldable phone comes in 512GB and 1TB storage options, with prices starting at 16,999 Yuan, approximately ₹2.1 lakh.

Adding to its luxury positioning, the Galaxy W26 provides a complete unboxing experience. Buyers receive a Kevlar case, a charging cable, and a power adapter, unlike most flagship phones that omit these accessories. Samsung is selling the W26 exclusively in China through its partnership with China Telecom, aiming to attract premium buyers seeking both performance and prestige.
