Jio unveiled its new range of JioBharat Phones with safety-first features on Wednesday during the India Mobile Congress 2025 (IMC 2025). The handsets are designed for elderly users, children, and women, offering location monitoring, usage manager, and up to seven days of battery backup.
The usage manager allows users or guardians to control who can call or message them while blocking unknown numbers. The location tracking feature helps users share their location with family and friends, ensuring safety. The handsets also minimise social media distractions, making them suitable for children and easy to use for caretakers to monitor parents’ health and location.
The JioBharat Phones start at ₹799 and are available via Jio’s Stores & Mart, Amazon, Swiggy Instamart, and other offline retailers.
During IMC 2025, company also launched the Jio AI Classroom foundation course, powered by JioPC in collaboration with Jio Institute. This free, beginner-level course teaches students about artificial intelligence and provides hands-on exposure to multiple AI tools for productivity, learning, and creativity.
Students can access the course via PCs, laptops, and smart TVs through JioPC on their set-top box, or enrol online on company’s website. The programme includes video lectures, practical assignments, and a capstone project. JioPC users also get bonus access to advanced AI tools, an extended learning roadmap, and a certificate from Jio Institute, while other users receive a completion badge.
The four-week course covers AI fundamentals and prompt engineering in week one, AI for learning and creativity in week two, AI for building and communication in week three, and the capstone project in the final week.
