GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company and a leader in digital engineering, has strengthened its footprint in southern India with the launch of a new facility in Chennai. This strategic move reinforces the company’s commitment to India’s technology landscape and deepens its collaboration with Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
The new office, situated at RMZ Milenia Business Park in Perungudi, was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu’s Minister of Information Technology and Digital Services, Palanivel Thiagarajan, along with NASSCOM’s Regional Director for South, Bhaskar Kumar Verma.
Expansion and growth plans
GlobalLogic currently employs more than 800 professionals in Chennai and plans to grow its headcount by 20 percent, crossing 1,000 employees by the end of 2025. The company aims to expand its workforce to 20,000 in India and 35,000 globally as part of its larger growth strategy.
Speaking at the inauguration, Piyush Jha, Group Vice President and Managing Director, APAC, GlobalLogic, said, “India continues to be the cornerstone of our global innovation strategy. As we scale toward a 20,000-strong workforce in the country, Chennai will play a critical role in helping us deliver AI-first, cloud-native, and telecom-grade solutions at scale.”
He added that the new facility will help enhance client proximity, improve collaboration with GCC partners, and accelerate project delivery timelines.
Focus on AI and telecom innovation
The Chennai centre will function as a specialised hub for telecom and media solutions, focusing on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G monetisation, intelligent networks, DevOps, MLOps, embedded systems, and data analytics.
Teams at the facility will focus on AI-driven customer experience transformation, advanced software development, and next-generation telecom innovations.
Vikram Puranik, Senior Vice President, Communications, Consumer and Media at GlobalLogic, said, “With Chennai as a focal point, we’re investing in leadership, domain expertise, and advanced engineering to address challenges in telecom and AI-driven customer experience.”
Strengthening India’s GCC ecosystem
This expansion highlights GlobalLogic’s long-term commitment to India’s technology and innovation ecosystem. With a strong presence in Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, Gurugram, and now Chennai, GlobalLogic continues to focus on building AI-first, cloud-native engineering excellence to serve clients worldwide.
