Air India has announced a new interline partnership with Taiwan-based STARLUX Airlines to improve connectivity across Asia. This collaboration will allow passengers to book single-ticket itineraries combining flights from both airlines, making travel smoother with coordinated baggage handling and better connectivity.
As part of the agreement, Air India customers can now fly to Taipei through key Southeast Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Kuala Lumpur. In return, STARLUX Airlines customers will gain easier access to major Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru using the same Southeast Asia gateways.
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer at Air India, said, “We are excited to partner with luxury full-service carrier, STARLUX Airlines, to enhance travel options across for our customers to Taiwan. This interline agreement aligns perfectly with Air India’s commitment to delivering premium experiences for our guests, while inviting STARLUX Airlines customers to experience India’s diverse cities in full-service comfort through our robust network.”
Tickets under the interline arrangement can now be booked through travel agents. They will also be available soon on Air India’s official website and mobile application.
This move is part of Air India’s broader transformation efforts under the Vihaan.AI program, which began after the airline returned to Tata Sons in 2022. The airline is currently upgrading its fleet and services, with an order placed for 570 new aircraft and ongoing interior refurbishment of existing planes.
Air India, along with its low-cost subsidiary Air India Express, operates a fleet of more than 300 aircraft and connects 55 domestic and 45 international destinations.
