The Delhi government has finalised a major proposal to develop three new industrial areas in Kanjhawala, Ranikhera, and Baprola, aiming to position the capital as a leading hub for frontier industries such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and advanced robotics. The plan will soon be presented before the Cabinet for approval, marking a significant step towards transforming Delhi’s industrial and technological landscape.
Spanning approximately 1,200 acres, these new industrial zones will follow a “satellite town” model that integrates office and residential spaces along with hotels, markets, community centres, and green zones. Officials stated that the projects will feature sustainable and eco-friendly infrastructure, renewable energy systems, and strong public transport connectivity through the Delhi Metro and city bus networks. Unlike traditional factory clusters, these developments are designed to promote a balanced and modern urban-industrial ecosystem.
The government intends to drive the growth of emerging sectors through financial support and partnerships under the public-private model. An official said, “Our vision is to create modern, mixed-use spaces, similar to Gurgaon’s Cyber City, that attract top talent and significantly boost Delhi’s economy.”
These upcoming hubs are expected to generate lakhs of new jobs and serve as catalysts for innovation, research, and high-technology manufacturing. The initiative reflects the government’s forward-looking approach to sustainable urban development, combining industry growth, employment generation, and environmental responsibility in one strategic framework.
