Oracle today announced that Wipro Limited, a leading AI-powered technology services and consulting company, has migrated its mission-critical Oracle databases that support its payroll and recruitment systems to Oracle Base Database Service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The move to OCI has enabled Wipro to boost the performance of its recruitment systems by more than 50 percent and reduce payroll processing time by 60 percent. Wipro leveraged Oracle Interconnect for Google Cloud and Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure to enable a seamless, low-latency migration of its data and workloads to OCI.
Wipro helps clients navigate complex digital transformations through its expertise in consulting, design, engineering, and operations and has over 230,000 employees and business partners across 65 countries. To maintain its high level of service, Wipro modernized its digital infrastructure using Oracle Base Database Service on OCI, improving database management and application performance, availability, and security. Wipro connected its payroll system to OCI through Oracle Interconnect for Google Cloud and its recruitment application through Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure.
“As we accelerate our digital transformation with an AI-first mindset, strengthening our internal payroll and recruitment systems is critical to building a future-ready workforce,” said Harish Singh, Vice President and Global Head, Infrastructure and Applications Management Group, Wipro Limited. “This transformation provides us the flexibility, performance, and security to modernize our mission-critical systems, boost HR efficiency, and retain talent.”
Wipro’s deployments of Oracle Interconnect for Google Cloud and Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure have delivered superior network performance and security control, enabling seamless integration and optimized application performance across Wipro’s multicloud infrastructure. By harnessing the converged capabilities of Oracle Database, Wipro boosted efficiency, optimized costs, and reduced payroll processing time from over 70 minutes to just 29 minutes. In addition, the performance of Wipro’s recruitment systems improved by more than 50 percent.
“Our longstanding collaboration with Wipro exemplifies how strategic partnerships drive transformation at scale,” said Premalakshmi PR, vice president, Technology Cloud, Oracle India. “With Oracle Database on OCI and our multicloud capabilities, customers gain the freedom to run their workloads where and how they choose. This enables Wipro to drive better business outcomes, realize cost efficiencies, and advance its vision of an AI-first, agile enterprise.”
“Enterprises are embracing multi-cloud to power AI workloads and ensure scalable, flexible infrastructure,” said Daphne Chung, research director, cloud services and software research, IDC Asia/Pacific, IDC. “Oracle offers a differentiated approach, enabling mission-critical workloads to run seamlessly across OCI, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and AWS with speed, efficiency, and flexibility.”
