Infrastructure:
The city is equipped with modern IT infrastructure such as TIDEL Park and ELCOT IT Park, offering world-class facilities and office spaces suited for global enterprises.
Industrial Strength:
A strong industrial ecosystem supported by major players like BHEL, the railway workshop, and the Ordnance Factory contributes significantly to Tiruchi’s economic growth.
Connectivity:
Strategically located in Tamil Nadu, Tiruchi enjoys excellent transport connectivity, with plans underway for airport expansion to enhance domestic and international operations. A proposed dry port will further boost access to global markets.
Insights from CII Tiruchi Connect
MP Durai Vaiko underscored the importance of collaboration to establish Tiruchi as a hub for technology and services. He urged efforts to drive the digital transformation of MSMEs, adopt Artificial Intelligence, and attract global organisations and GCCs. He also emphasised bridging the gap between academia and industry by introducing mandatory internships from the third year of study to ensure students are job-ready.
Balasubramaniam, CEO and Managing Director of Stratinfinity, highlighted the value of nurturing young talent in GCCs, noting that fresh graduates often make up 10 to 15 per cent of GCC teams. He proposed hosting a GCC CEO Conclave in January to showcase Tiruchi’s growing potential to international companies.
Strategic Advantages
Tiruchi offers a high quality of life, affordable business operations compared to metro cities, and a growing reputation for innovation, supported by its expanding ecosystem of technology, ITES, and service industries.
Conclusion
With its skilled talent pool, modern infrastructure, industrial base, and improving connectivity, Tiruchi is well-positioned to attract the next wave of Global Capability Centres. Stakeholders are encouraged to work together to transform the city into a leading technology and services hub in India.
