The cyber cell of Delhi Police has uncovered a major international cyber fraud network, arresting five individuals involved in a sophisticated online investment scam. The gang, reportedly linked to Cambodia, is accused of defrauding victims of over Rs 4.25 crore.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Amit Goyal stated that the accused—Vikram from Haryana, Mukul from Punjab, Akshay from Himachal Pradesh, Hari Kishan from Haryana, and Mangu Singh from Rajasthan—operated across different states while coordinating closely with foreign cybercriminals. Mangu Singh, believed to be the mastermind, allegedly managed the operations through a Telegram group called “ATPay,” which was connected to fraudsters in Cambodia.
Investigations revealed that one victim alone lost Rs 10.7 lakh to the scheme. The gang reportedly transferred the defrauded funds to multiple bank accounts, converted the money into cryptocurrency, and routed the digital assets to Cambodia, making it difficult for authorities to trace the money.
During the raids, police seized 13 mobile phones, eight SIM cards, nine checkbooks, three registers, and a laptop, all suspected to have been used in carrying out the scam.
DCP Goyal confirmed that a formal case has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing to identify the gang’s international collaborators and trace additional transactions. Police authorities are also examining potential links to other cybercrime networks and the broader scope of the operation.
