Lowe’s Partners with Perplexity to Launch AI-Powered Shopping Experience through Comet Browser

Artificial intelligence is rapidly moving from concept to practical use, and Lowe’s Companies, Inc. is leading this transformation in the home improvement sector. In collaboration with Perplexity, Lowe’s has become the first company in its industry to integrate AI through the Comet browser, marking a shift towards contextual commerce where shopping blends seamlessly with real-time problem solving.

Instead of searching for tools or materials individually, customers can now ask natural questions such as “What do I need to fix a dripping faucet?” and receive intelligent, project-based recommendations powered by Lowe’s product inventory.

For Lowe’s, this partnership goes beyond a digital upgrade—it represents a customer-focused innovation aimed at simplifying complex home improvement tasks. “Customers are turning to AI more than ever—whether it’s for inspiration around the home or help solving an urgent issue,” said Chandhu Nair, Senior Vice President of Data, AI and Innovation at Lowe’s. “At Lowe’s, it’s our job to meet them where they are, supporting their needs across the total home.”

The company is also linking this AI-powered Comet experience to its MyLowe’s Rewards program, offering 1,000 bonus points to early users as an incentive, combining smart technology with tangible customer benefits.

Industry experts view this move as a major step towards the future of retail, where AI-driven agents provide precise, personalised, and efficient assistance throughout the customer journey. As the partnership evolves, Lowe’s aims to redefine how customers plan, purchase, and complete their projects.

From minor repairs to full-scale renovations, this collaboration with Comet showcases a future where technology and human expertise work together to make home improvement simpler, faster, and more empowering.
