Tesla Begins Deliveries of Model Y in India After July Launch

Tesla India announced on Monday that it has started deliveries of the Model Y, just two months after the model was introduced in July this year. The company described the move as a major milestone in electric vehicle ownership and sustainable mobility in the country.

In a statement, the American electric vehicle maker said, “Within two months, the company has started the deliveries of the Model Y; this marks a significant step forward and creates a new chapter in electric vehicle ownership and sustainable development in India.”

As part of the launch, new Model Y customers will receive a complimentary wall connector, which can be installed in their parking space to enable convenient home charging.

The redesigned Model Y, which was the world’s best-selling electric vehicle in both 2023 and 2024, is available in two trims in India. The rear-wheel drive version offers a range of 500 km, while the long-range rear-wheel drive variant provides up to 622 km, based on WLTP standards.

Tesla also confirmed that deliveries for the long-range Model Y customers will begin soon.
