Stryker, a global leader in medical technologies, has announced the launch of a new 140,000 square foot research and development facility in Whitefield, Bengaluru. This expansion strengthens its innovation presence in India and complements the company’s existing 220,000 square foot Global Technology Center in Gurgaon.
The new Bengaluru centre is designed as a hub for advanced healthcare innovation. It brings together cross-functional teams and state-of-the-art laboratories to accelerate development in areas such as robotics, artificial intelligence, digital healthcare, and product security. The facility aims to drive breakthroughs in next-generation medical solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and patient care.
A key highlight of the facility is the Medical Experience Centre. This space offers healthcare professionals an opportunity to experience Stryker’s advanced technologies first-hand. It showcases a wide range of medical products, including ICU beds and stretchers, Automated External Defibrillators, ambulance cots, and other specialised equipment. More than just a product display, the centre has been envisioned as a collaborative platform for knowledge sharing and co-innovation, strengthening partnerships with the wider medical community.
Speaking about the expansion, Ram Rangarajan, Vice President of the Stryker Global Technology Center, said, “The Bengaluru centre will attract world-class talent, deepen collaboration with healthcare providers, and accelerate solutions for customers and patients worldwide.” He noted that the facility reinforces Stryker’s commitment to advancing global innovation while meeting the evolving needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
The expansion also highlights India’s growing importance in the global medical technology sector. With a highly skilled workforce and increasing investments in healthcare innovation, India is rapidly becoming a key hub for research and development. By expanding in Bengaluru, Stryker is not only investing in India’s talent ecosystem but also positioning the country as a vital contributor to transformative healthcare advancements worldwide.
With this new R&D facility, Stryker is set to enhance its capabilities in robotics, AI, digital innovation, and product security. The addition of the Medical Experience Centre underscores the company’s focus on collaboration, helping to develop solutions that improve patient outcomes and redefine the future of healthcare.
