Gaia Dynamics, a leading AI-driven trade compliance platform, has appointed Carlos Alzate as its first Chief Technology Officer. Carlos brings extensive experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and technology leadership as Gaia Dynamics continues to grow in response to rising customer demand for trade and compliance solutions.

Prior to joining Gaia Dynamics, Carlos served as CTO at AI Fund, where he led AI technology strategy and product innovation. Earlier, he directed a research group at IBM Research in Ireland, contributing to high-profile projects including Project Debater, IBM’s follow-up to Watson.
Carlos holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in AI from KU Leuven in Belgium, along with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
At Gaia Dynamics, he will guide the company’s technology vision, overseeing the development of its AI-powered trade compliance platform and driving innovation to help businesses manage the complexities of global trade efficiently.
