Unilever PLC has announced the appointment of Srinivas Phatak as its new Chief Financial Officer. His appointment to the Board and Unilever Leadership Executive is effective immediately.
In February 2025, Srinivas, who was Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Group Controller at the time, was named Acting CFO while a full search for a permanent CFO was conducted. Following this process, the Unilever Board unanimously agreed that Srinivas is the ideal candidate due to his extensive industry experience and strong performance as Acting CFO.
Srinivas brings over 25 years of financial leadership experience at Unilever, having held several strategic roles across geographies and business units. Before becoming CFO, he served as Acting CFO for seven months, and prior to that as Deputy CFO and Group Controller for nearly three years in the United Kingdom, focusing on financial leadership, strategic transformation, and building global financial capabilities.
Earlier, he served as Executive Vice President for Financial Controls and Risk Management, leading compliance, governance, and enterprise risk initiatives globally. He has also held key positions as CFO of Hindustan Unilever Limited and Vice President Finance for South Asia, where he oversaw regional financial strategies and performance management.
His global finance experience includes roles such as Vice President Finance Supply Chain Americas in Switzerland, Vice President Category Finance, Vice President Finance Services in London, and Finance Head for Foods and Refreshments at HUL in Mumbai. These positions reflect his expertise across investor relations, category finance, and supply chain finance.
Srinivas began his career at ITC Limited as Assistant Manager in Audit before joining Unilever in 1999. He has also served as Head of Global Treasury Operations and held roles across commercial, logistics, and finance functions in Unilever India.
Srinivas Phatak’s appointment reinforces Unilever’s commitment to strong financial leadership, strategic growth, and building global financial capabilities across the company.
