In the financial year 2024 to 2025, more than 90,000 passengers opted for e-catering every day, reflecting a 66 per cent year on year growth. MakeMyTrip also plans to integrate its Live Train Status tool into the service, allowing travellers to place timely orders for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks in sync with real time train movement.

Innovation to Enhance Travel Experiences
Raj Rishi Singh, Chief Business Officer and Chief Marketing Officer at MakeMyTrip, said, “With the launch of our Food on Train Marketplace, we are taking another step in enhancing the travel experience by giving passengers greater choice and convenience. This collaboration with Zomato builds on that momentum and will contribute to strategically unlocking one of the fastest-growing consumption opportunities in India’s mobility ecosystem.”

Diwali Rollout with Festive Offers
The service is being rolled out during the Diwali season with special offers for travellers. Passengers booking train tickets through the MakeMyTrip platform will receive a complimentary coupon that can be redeemed on Zomato orders, adding festive value to their journey.

This partnership marks a major step in redefining the on train dining experience, combining the reach of MakeMyTrip’s travel services with Zomato’s food delivery network to serve India’s growing community of train travellers.
