Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao announced on Friday that 500 doctors will soon be recruited to ensure that there is no shortage of medical professionals in government hospitals.
The recruitment proposal has already been prepared, and the hiring process is expected to begin shortly, the minister said after conducting a surprise inspection at the government hospital in Kurukshetra.
During her visit, Minister Rao inspected the pharmacy, toilets, and cleanliness arrangements in every ward of the LNJP hospital. She reprimanded officers for the difficulties faced by patients, particularly in the children’s ward, due to scattered debris and poorly maintained toilets.
However, the minister noted that medicines were available in sufficient quantities in the government hospital pharmacy.
Speaking to reporters, she also highlighted that many districts in Haryana have been affected by recent floods. During this period, health department officers and staff have been actively monitoring the health of the people and distributing free medicines.
Minister Rao’s visit emphasised the government’s commitment to improving hospital infrastructure, ensuring cleanliness, and addressing the shortage of doctors to provide better healthcare services to the public.
