Gmail Introduces New ‘Purchases’ View and Smarter Promotions Sorting

Gmail is rolling out a new Purchases view and an upgraded Promotions sorting feature to help users better manage shopping-related emails ahead of the festive season.

The new Purchases tab brings together all purchase-related emails and package updates in a single, streamlined interface. Users will also see “Arriving soon” cards above this section to track upcoming deliveries more easily. The Purchases tab can be found under All labels in the navigation drawer. Google will continue to display summary cards at the top of purchase emails and within the inbox for quick access. This update is now rolling out globally across Android, iOS and the web for personal Google Accounts.

Alongside this, Gmail’s Promotions category is introducing a new “Most relevant” sorting option. This feature highlights messages from brands and senders that users interact with the most, while the “Most recent” option will still remain available.

In addition, Gmail is adding nudges that will surface upcoming deals and timely offers, ensuring users do not miss out on important discounts. These nudges will start rolling out to personal accounts on mobile in the coming weeks.

With these updates, Gmail aims to simplify how users manage purchase confirmations, deliveries and promotional messages, providing a more organised and efficient inbox experience.
