Haryana Launches Six-Point Cybersecurity Action Plan, Activates National Helpline 1930

The Haryana government has introduced a six-point action plan to fight the growing threat of cybercrime. As part of the initiative, the state has activated the Central Cyber Reporting Portal and the National Cyber Crime Helpline Number 1930, aimed at strengthening digital safety and ensuring quicker police response.

Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Dr Sumita Misra said, “Citizens can now report cases of cyber fraud, financial scams, identity theft, and online harassment either through the portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) or by calling 1930.”

She added that the Home Department has issued detailed cyber security directives to create a stronger safety ecosystem for government departments and public services.

The plan focuses on digital literacy and awareness campaigns at both state and district levels. Regular updates and guidance will also be shared with citizens through the official “Cyber Dost” social media platforms managed by the security wing of the Home Ministry.

To expand the outreach, information about the helpline and portal will be displayed at police stations, government offices, public centres, and other state facilities. Cyber awareness modules will also be included in all state government schemes and programmes.

Dr Misra highlighted that community leaders, local officials, and educational institutions will play a crucial role in spreading awareness at the grassroots. Schools and teacher training institutes have been instructed to add security topics to their curriculum so that both students and teachers understand the importance of digital safety.

She further urged citizens to promptly report cybercrimes to improve the chances of recovery and timely action against offenders.
