Abu Dhabi’s G42 Seeks to Broaden Chip Suppliers for AI Campus

Abu Dhabi-backed technology company G42 is working to expand its chip suppliers beyond Nvidia for its planned UAE U.S. artificial intelligence campus, according to a report from a common news source.

The group is in talks with leading American technology companies, including Amazon’s AWS cloud, Microsoft, Meta, and Elon Musk’s xAI, to become tenants at the data centre. Google is said to be the furthest along in negotiations.

To power the facility, G42 is exploring supply options from chipmakers such as AMD, Cerebras Systems, and Qualcomm to provide part of the computing capacity.

When approached for comment, AMD, Cerebras, Qualcomm, and G42 did not respond, while an Nvidia spokesperson declined to comment.

The AI campus was announced during U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to the United Arab Emirates in May, when he unveiled agreements with the Gulf nation worth more than 200 billion dollars.
