Vertiv Holdings Co has announced the acquisition of Waylay NV, an artificial intelligence software platform provider, as part of its strategy to expand AI-driven monitoring and control technologies for power and cooling systems. The company expects this move to strengthen its ability to help customers across the globe improve uptime, optimise energy use, and enhance operational intelligence within critical digital infrastructure.
With the increasing demand for data centres driven by AI workloads, the need for intelligent and adaptive infrastructure is rising rapidly. AI-powered digital services for power and cooling are becoming essential to support high-density and high-performance computing environments that enable generative AI. These services provide real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and dynamic optimisation of power and thermal performance. Through the integration of Waylay’s advanced technology, Vertiv aims to deliver these capabilities at scale, ensuring customers can meet the evolving requirements of digital operations.
Commenting on the acquisition, Vertiv’s CEO Giordano Albertazzi said, “With the addition of Waylay’s technology and software-focused team, Vertiv will accelerate its vision of intelligent infrastructure, data driven, proactive, and optimised for the world’s most demanding environments. We are excited about the operational efficiencies and the resilience that Vertiv’s further augmented predictive capabilities can provide for our customers.”
Founded in 2014, Waylay has built an AI-powered hyper automation software platform that enables automation, system integration, and orchestration across connected assets, enterprise applications, and cloud services. Its key strengths include data analytics and orchestration scenarios that work at high speed, significantly lowering integration and product deployment costs. The software can analyse real-time machine data, detect operational patterns, and recommend predictive actions that reduce downtime and improve system performance.
