Police Arrested 13 in Bhadradri Kothagudem Cybercrime Case

Police have arrested 13 people in Bhadradri Kothagudem district in connection with a cybercrime case. The arrests followed complaints filed two days ago through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Acting on the reports, the Tekulapalli police along with the district cybercrime unit carried out a special operation at Tekulapalli Government Junior College.

According to the police, the accused worked with cybercriminals using the Telegram app to open 60 current accounts with fake documents. Through these accounts, they carried out transactions worth 8.5 crore rupees.

During the operation, police seized 12 mobile phones and a bank passbook from those involved. Authorities said that a total of 108 complaints have been registered across the country linked to this case.

The 13 accused were produced in court and remanded in judicial custody. Officials stated that cyber fraudsters are constantly inventing new ways to deceive people and steal money.

To counter such crimes, police are organising awareness programmes across the district. They have also assured strict action against cybercrime offenders. Victims of online fraud are advised to immediately call 1930 to file a complaint.
