Niranjan Gupta Appointed as Chief Financial Officer at Hindustan Unilever Limited

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced the appointment of Niranjan Gupta as its next Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, Finance, effective November 1, 2025, subject to necessary approvals. Gupta will also join the HUL Management Committee from September 1, 2025, and will report to Priya Nair, CEO and Managing Director of HUL.

This leadership transition marks an important moment for HUL as Gupta returns to the company where he began his professional journey. With decades of experience in finance, strategy, and operations, he brings wide-ranging expertise to the role.

Gupta will succeed Ritesh Tiwari, who has served as Executive Director, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of HUL since 2021. Gupta began his career with HUL and spent two decades in several leadership roles across finance, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain, and strategy.

After leaving HUL, Gupta worked with Vedanta Limited for three years before joining Hero MotoCorp in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer. He was later elevated to Chief Executive Officer in 2023. At Hero MotoCorp, he was instrumental in strengthening the company’s financial health, driving long-term strategy, and building strategic partnerships, including a collaboration with Harley Davidson.

Ritesh Tiwari, during his tenure as CFO of HUL, played a crucial role in steering the company through the challenges of the COVID pandemic. He ensured consistent growth while maintaining the financial growth model. His leadership included managing acquisitions, disposals, and partnerships that reshaped the company’s portfolio, positioning HUL for the future. Recently, he also led the demerger of the Ice Cream business into Kwality Walls (India) Limited, enabling its independent listing, subject to regulatory approvals.

Commenting on the transition, Priya Nair, CEO and Managing Director of HUL, said, “I would like to thank Ritesh for his future-focused leadership and invaluable contribution to HUL. He led our portfolio transformation efforts, aligning resources to high-growth areas resulting in strong market share gains. His elevation to the global role is yet another testament to HUL’s strong leadership pipeline. I am pleased to welcome Niranjan back to Hindustan Unilever and I am confident that he will play a pivotal role in steering the company towards its next phase of growth.”
