HDFC Bank, one of India’s largest private sector banks, has invested in CoRover, the conversational AI company that developed BharatGPT. BharatGPT is a sovereign and enterprise-grade Large Language Model built entirely in India.
CoRover currently serves over one billion users and is trusted by more than 25,000 enterprises. Its platform powers conversational AI agents such as VideoBot, VoiceBot, ChatBot, and Telephony AI, all enabled by BharatGPT’s multilingual, multimodal, and domain-adaptable technology.
Arup Rakshit, Group Head Treasury at HDFC Bank, said, “Development of BharatGPT, which enables exchange of information in multiple Indian languages for a diverse country like India, set apart CoRover for us. We value the expertise of CoRover, catering to the unique vernacular requirements. We are privileged to play a meaningful role in the IndiaAI Startups Global Accelerator Programme through CoRover.”
Sharing his thoughts on the partnership, Ankush Sabharwal, Founder and CEO of CoRover, said, “We are honoured to have the trust and support of HDFC Bank, along with other investors, as we expand the reach and impact of BharatGPT. This partnership signals a shared commitment to building AI that is sovereign, secure, inclusive, and capable of scaling across India’s most critical sectors.”
CoRover’s platform is designed for rapid deployment of intelligent AI agents across voice, video, and chat. With the launch of BharatGPT Mini, the company has extended AI accessibility to low-end devices and offline environments, making it more inclusive for users across India.
Supported by initiatives such as the IndiaAI Mission and international accelerator programmes with Station F and HEC Paris, CoRover and HDFC Bank are working together to shape the future of sovereign and inclusive AI in the country.
