Google has launched its own version of a magnetic accessory system called PixelSnap, designed for the newly released Pixel 10 series of devices. This announcement comes nearly five years after a major smartphone company introduced its own magnetic accessory lineup in 2020.
PixelSnap allows users to attach a variety of accessories, including wireless chargers, stands, grips, and more, directly to their Pixel 10 devices. Google is also releasing its own PixelSnap cases and compatible accessories.
One of the simplest accessories is the Ring Stand, which attaches to the phone like a small puck. The ring can be pulled out to use as a stand for hands-free viewing.
All new Pixel devices support the Qi2 wireless charging standard. The Pixel 10 Pro XL supports 25W wireless charging, while the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Fold models support 15W wireless charging.
Google is introducing a PixelSnap charger along with an optional stand. Users can charge their phones while laying them flat with the standalone charger, or use the stand to interact with their phone, display home control widgets, or use the device while charging.
The PixelSnap cases start at $49.99. The PixelSnap Ring Stand is priced at $29.99. The PixelSnap charger is available for $39.99, and the charger with stand costs $69.99.
Google also confirmed that the Pixel 10 series is compatible with a range of accessories, including car mounts and chargers from Made for Google partners. Certain magnetic accessories from other brands are also compatible with the PixelSnap system.
This launch marks Google’s entry into the magnetic accessory market, offering Pixel users more convenience and flexibility with their devices.
