Escorts Kubota To Invest ₹4,500 Crore In New Tractor Plant At YEIDA

Escorts Kubota Limited is set to establish a major tractor manufacturing plant with an investment of ₹4,500 crore. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allotted nearly 200 acres of land in Sector 10 for the project, according to an official statement released on Monday.

Escorts Kubota had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Uttar Pradesh government on 17 August 2024 for setting up the facility. The new unit is expected to create employment opportunities for 4,000 people in a phased manner.

“In the first phase, with an investment of ₹2,000 crore, Escorts Kubota will develop a tractor plant, a commercial equipment plant, and allied facilities. The second phase will be scaled up depending on market demand and the capacity utilisation of the first phase,” the statement added.

The plant will not only cater to the domestic market but will also focus on exports to serve global demand. In addition, the company plans to create shared services for Kubota’s worldwide research and development operations from India.

Escorts Kubota was formed in 2019 through a partnership between India’s Escorts and Japan’s Kubota. The venture has been working on producing tractors, engines, farm machinery, and construction equipment. With this new project, the company aims to strengthen India’s position as a global hub for manufacturing agricultural and industrial machinery.

The large-scale investment marks a significant boost to industrial development in the region while supporting both local job creation and India’s role in the international farm and construction equipment markets.
