Alvarez and Marsal (A&M) India has appointed Arpito Mukerji as Managing Director in its Financial Advisory and Special Situations practice. He will lead the development of the firm’s debt financing vertical in India.
Mukerji brings over 30 years of experience in private credit, banking, and real estate. He has advised corporates and capital providers on a range of transactions, from traditional loans to complex structured credit, and has overseen high-impact investments across diverse asset classes and geographies. His career includes leadership roles at Apollo Global Management, Rezone Investment Advisors, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, UBS, GE Capital, and ABN AMRO Bank.
A&M’s debt advisory platform is designed to address funding gaps in key sectors such as real estate, infrastructure, renewables, metals and mining, and special situations. These markets have seen private credit investments worth between seven and eight billion dollars annually in India over the past two years.
Himanshu Bajaj, Managing Director and Head of A&M India and GCC, said Mukerji’s expertise “will help deliver innovative financing structures at a time when access to tailored capital solutions is becoming a strategic imperative.” Nikhil Shah, Managing Director and Financial Advisory and Special Situations Leader, added that Mukerji appointment will strengthen A&M’s private capital lifecycle capabilities in the Indian market.
