Honor has confirmed that its next foldable smartphone, the Magic V Flip 2, will be launched in China on August 21 at 7:30pm local time (5pm IST). The handset is now open for pre reservations through the company’s official website and select e commerce platforms. This model will succeed the original Honor Magic V Flip, which debuted in June 2024.
The company has also revealed the design and colour choices for the upcoming clamshell foldable. The Honor Magic V Flip 2 will be available in blue, grey, purple, and white. The standout variant is a sparkling blue edition designed by fashion designer Jimmy Choo, featuring his name engraved on the hinge. The grey version comes with a matte finish, while the purple and white editions feature a marble patterned design.
From the official images, the Magic V Flip 2 appears to have an edge to edge cover screen and two outward facing cameras of the same size, a change from its predecessor where the main camera was larger than the ultrawide lens. The foldable’s main display features very slim, uniform bezels and a centred hole punch slot at the top.
According to earlier leaks, the device could be powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC. It is expected to feature a 6.8 inch Full HD+ LTPO inner screen, a 4 inch Full HD+ LTPO cover display, and a 50 megapixel 1/1.5 inch primary rear camera sensor. The Magic V Flip 2 is also likely to house a 5,500mAh battery, which would be the largest ever in a clamshell foldable, with support for 80W wired fast charging.
