NxtGen, a leading Indian cloud and AI infrastructure provider, has announced the launch of ‘M’, an open source agentic AI platform developed entirely on Indian infrastructure.
Positioned as a sovereign alternative to global models like ChatGPT, ‘M’ is designed to help users complete real world tasks using simple voice or text prompts. These tasks can include booking a doctor’s appointment, ordering food, buying movie tickets, or starting enterprise workflows.
Unlike AI systems built only for conversation, NxtGen ‘M’ is action focused. It uses a modular design that chooses the most suitable open source model for each task. For example, it can use Llama 4 for general conversations and DeepSeek 671B for advanced reasoning. This approach allows it to carry out intelligent and context aware workflows while ensuring performance, data sovereignty, and security.
The name “M” is inspired by the first sound made by humans, symbolising the start of intelligence and human connection. NxtGen has opened the platform for startups and enterprises to add their own real life use cases, aiming to encourage innovation and make the technology widely accessible.
Rajgopal A S, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NxtGen, said: “With ‘M’, we’re proving that open source and agentic AI can stand shoulder to shoulder with any frontier closed source model.”
