Venture capital firm Cactus Partners has led a USD 7 million funding round in Brandworks Technologies, an India-based electronics design-led manufacturing company. The investment round also saw participation from Gujarat Venture Finance Limited, Legacy Assets and the Hira Group.
Brandworks plans to use the funds to strengthen its research and development centres, build partnerships and customer relationships in key global markets, and invest in next-generation product platforms with a focus on performance, sustainability and meeting global standards. The company also aims to expand its manufacturing capacity by adding high-efficiency production lines and enhance its innovation capabilities through the hiring of top engineering, design and operations talent.
Amit Sharma, General Partner at Cactus Partners, said that the electronics manufacturing industry is set for strong growth, driven by initiatives such as “Make in India” and changing global supply chains. He added that well-managed companies like Brandworks are well positioned to achieve rapid growth.
Brandworks Technologies develops solutions in AI hardware, IoT, advanced audio systems, charging technologies, financial devices, surveillance systems and renewable energy products. The company works with global chip manufacturers to co-create products that prioritise design quality, manufacturing precision and customer satisfaction.
Co-founder Ishwar Kumhar stated: “This fundraise is fuel for a much larger mission to make Brandworks a global leader in electronics R and D and manufacturing. We are here to prove that world-class innovation can be imagined, designed and built in India and delivered to the world.”
