Spotify Increases Premium Subscription Prices Across India and Other Regions

Spotify has officially announced a price hike for its Premium subscription plans in India and several global markets. The revised pricing affects users in South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and parts of the Asia Pacific region.

In India, the Spotify Premium Individual plan has increased from Rs. 119 to Rs. 139 per month. Other plans have also seen a rise in cost. The Duo plan, which allows two users on one subscription, is now priced at Rs. 179 per month, up from Rs. 149. The Family plan, which supports up to six users, has gone up from Rs. 179 to Rs. 229 per month.

The Student plan remains the most affordable option but has also been revised. It now costs Rs. 69 per month, compared to the earlier price of Rs. 59. This plan is available only to students with valid identification.

Spotify stated in an official post that the price revision is aimed at supporting its ongoing efforts to improve product offerings and enhance the overall listening experience. The company said the change will allow it to “continue to innovate” and provide better service to users.

Existing subscribers will be charged the new rates after their current billing cycle ends. New users will need to subscribe at the updated prices. Notifications regarding the changes will be sent to users via email.

Spotify currently offers four main Premium plans in India: Individual, Duo, Family, and Student. All of these have been affected by the latest revision.

The update is now visible on the Spotify app in India, confirming the implementation of the new pricing structure.
