Samsung expands Galaxy AI as consumer interest in mobile AI grows

A major commitment announced during the Galaxy AI Forum at Galaxy Unpacked

Samsung today announced it is committed to expanding Galaxy AI to over 400 million devices globally by the end of 2025. This builds on its 2024 milestone of bringing Galaxy AI to over 200 million devices, starting with the Galaxy S24 series.

Since its launch, Galaxy AI has helped define a new era of mobile AI innovation by transforming the capabilities of smartphones. Today, more than 70% of Galaxy S25 users are actively using a growing set of AI-powered features developed in collaboration with Samsung and Google.

Among them, Google Gemini has seen the most notable growth, tripling its usage on the latest Galaxy S series. Thanks to a close collaboration with Samsung, Gemini is built into all Galaxy devices and connects with native apps to deliver helpful, personalized answers.

Mindy Brooks, Google’s vice president of Android Products and Consumer Experience , said: “Through our close collaboration with Samsung, Gemini works seamlessly across all of Samsung’s devices and connects with its first-party apps to deliver helpful, personalized responses. For example, Gemini’s live video features are optimized for the Flip’s front-facing camera, and Gemini leverages phone context on Galaxy Watch.”

Consumers are turning to mobile AI for everyday tasks

One year after the inaugural Galaxy AI Forum, Samsung shares new insights on how AI is transforming everyday life. Research conducted with Symmetry Research reveals a growing reliance on mobile AI and evolving expectations for more personalized and proactive features:

  • 47 % of consumers say their daily routines would be disrupted without AI tools like personalized notifications, AI-powered search, and voice assistance.
  • 45 % now use voice commands as often as they type, highlighting a shift in the way users interact with their devices.

These trends point to an ever-increasing demand for multimodal, intelligent, and intuitive AI experiences.

Democratizing mobile AI for everyone

Samsung’s expansion of Galaxy AI to 400 million devices reflects its commitment to democratizing the power and possibilities of mobile AI. Whether through intuitive voice features, on-device privacy, or cross-device intelligence, Samsung is creating a future where AI is seamlessly integrated into the smartphone—the device that’s always in your hand.

Jisun Park, Corporate Executive Vice President and Head of Linguistic AI Team, Mobile Experience Business, Samsung Electronics , concludes: “Some see AI as the beginning of a ‘post-smartphone’ era, but we see it differently. We’re building a future where devices don’t just respond, but become smarter to anticipate, observe, and work silently in the background to make our lives a little easier.”
