ITI Limited Secures ₹6,956 Crore in BharatNet Phase-3 Contracts, Driving Rural Digital Connectivity

ITI Limited, India’s pioneering public sector undertaking and a prominent telecom equipment manufacturer, has signed a significant agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to serve as the Project Implementing Agency (PIA) for Package-15 of the ambitious BharatNet Phase-3 Project.

This contract, valued at ₹1,901 crore, focuses on enhancing digital connectivity in the North Eastern Region II (NERII), specifically covering Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur.

The financial allocation for Package-15 includes ₹1,168 crore for capital expenditure, ₹700.84 crore for operating expenditure, and ₹32.21 crore for the maintenance of existing network infrastructure. ITI Limited had emerged as the lowest bidder for this package in November 2024.

Beyond Package-15, ITI Limited has also secured agreements for two other crucial regions: Package No. 8 (Himachal Pradesh) and Package No. 9 (West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands), with a combined value of ₹5,055 crore. This brings ITI Limited’s total project value under the BharatNet Phase-3 initiative to an impressive ₹6,956 crore.

The overarching goal of BharatNet Phase-3 is to revolutionize digital connectivity across India, with a particular emphasis on empowering rural areas. The project aims to establish, expand, and maintain the Middle Mile Network across 16 distinct packages, operating under a comprehensive Design, Build, Operate, and Maintain (DBOM) model.

ITI Limited’s substantial involvement underscores its pivotal role in advancing India’s digital infrastructure and bridging the digital divide.
