Rubrik (NYSE: RBRK), a leading cybersecurity company, has announced an agreement to acquire Predibase, an artificial intelligence (AI) startup. While the official terms of the transaction were not disclosed, some reports suggest the deal is valued at over $100 million. This strategic acquisition aims to significantly accelerate the adoption of agentic AI from pilot phases to full-scale production.
The integration of Predibase’s technology with Rubrik’s existing offerings is expected to bring radical simplicity to the management of AI models and data. The combined capabilities are anticipated to deliver improved accuracy, lower operational costs, enhanced performance, and automated data governance for enterprises.
Predibase, an AI startup previously backed by venture capital firms Greylock and Felicis, has focused on streamlining AI development. The acquisition by Rubrik underscores the increasing importance of robust AI capabilities within data security and management solutions.
The completion of the acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions. This move positions Rubrik to further enhance its cybersecurity platform by incorporating advanced AI functionalities, enabling customers to deploy and manage AI solutions with greater efficiency and security.
