Foxconn and Nvidia Revolutionize Manufacturing with Humanoid Robots Set for Houston AI Server Factory

In a move poised to redefine manufacturing, global electronics giant Foxconn and leading AI chipmaker Nvidia are in advanced discussions to deploy humanoid robots at a new Foxconn facility in Houston, Texas.

This initiative aims to revolutionize the production of Nvidia’s next-generation GB300 AI servers, marking a significant milestone in the adoption of advanced robotics in high-tech manufacturing.

These human-like robots are expected to commence work by the first quarter of 2026, coinciding with the scheduled start of production for Nvidia’s cutting-edge AI servers at the Houston plant.

This will be a historic first: the inaugural instance of Nvidia products being manufactured with the assistance of humanoid robots, and Foxconn’s first AI server factory to integrate such advanced automation onto its production lines.

Foxconn, a major manufacturing partner for numerous tech companies, is actively developing its own humanoid robots in collaboration with Nvidia. The company has also reportedly trialed models from China’s UBTech, a prominent robotics firm. Foxconn plans to unveil two distinct prototypes at its annual technology showcase in November 2025: a sophisticated bipedal (legged) humanoid designed for complex, dexterity-demanding tasks, and a more cost-effective wheeled Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) for logistics and repetitive operations.

The initial roles for these robotic workers will focus on fundamental manufacturing processes. Foxconn has been rigorously training the robots for tasks such as picking and placing objects, precisely inserting wires and cables, and performing various assembly operations.

The Houston factory’s new construction and ample floor space are cited as key advantages, providing an ideal environment for integrating these advanced robots without the complexities of retrofitting older facilities. This “robot-first” design approach is expected to optimize material flow and production efficiency.

This strategic deployment aligns with Nvidia’s broader vision for the future of manufacturing and its deep involvement in the robotics ecosystem. Nvidia not only develops the powerful AI chips that will be manufactured at the Houston plant but also provides the foundational platforms and software for humanoid robot makers.

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, has previously predicted that humanoid robots will become widely adopted in manufacturing facilities within the next five years, emphasizing the imminent “ChatGPT moment for physical AI and robotics.”

The move by Foxconn and Nvidia is part of a growing global trend, with other major manufacturers, including automakers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Tesla, actively testing or developing humanoid robots for their production lines. While specific details regarding the exact number of robots to be deployed and their final appearance are still being finalized, this collaboration signifies a bold step towards a more automated, efficient, and technologically advanced manufacturing landscape.

It underscores the companies’ commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI and robotics to meet the surging demand for next-generation computing hardware.
