In a move signaling strategic recalibration within Flipkart’s financial leadership, Ravi Iyer has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer for its Marketplace division. Iyer, who already holds the position of Senior Vice President overseeing the Corporate Business Unit, will now wear an additional hat, managing the responsibilities of Marketplace CFO alongside his existing roles.
This reshuffle is part of Flipkart’s ongoing mission to elevate collaboration across departments and sharpen its focus on organizational goals. With this appointment, Iyer will continue to lead Corporate Development, Group Financial Planning and Analysis, Investor Relations, and the CEO’s office. He will also continue reporting directly to Sriram Venkataraman.
In an internal communication reviewed by a source, Venkataraman noted, “As part of his additional responsibilities, he will work closely with leaders across all the functions and business units and will continue to report to me.” The email emphasized that this leadership expansion is aimed at reinforcing financial strategy and enhancing cross-functional partnerships.
The decision to elevate Iyer comes as the company strengthens its core finance capabilities. Sriram Venkataraman will still serve as the Chief Financial Officer of Flipkart Group, ensuring continuity at the highest level of finance governance.
Previously, Sakait Chaudhary held the title of Marketplace CFO before being promoted to lead the marketplace business. Since then, the position had remained vacant, with Venkataraman overseeing the responsibilities alongside his primary duties as Group CFO.
This announcement is effective immediately and is seen as a step forward in aligning Flipkart’s financial leadership with its broader growth ambitions.
