Sabre’s Bengaluru GCC celebrates 20 years of innovation

During its 20th anniversary celebration in May 2025, Sabre Corporation’s Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru celebrated 20 years of excellence, deep-tech know-how, and a strong emphasis on customer-first innovation.

Sabre Bengaluru GCC: A Two-Decade Journey of Travel Tech Leadership

What started out as an Indian delivery center has evolved over the last 20 years into one of the company’s major innovation hubs, at the center of its worldwide technological ecosystem. Over the years, the center has assisted in the development and expansion of many key Sabre systems, including as SabreMosaic, Sabre Travel AI in association with Google, and Revenue Optimizer—which powers top airlines, agencies, and hotels globally—in cooperation with its peer GCCs worldwide. At Sabre Bengaluru GCC, engineers, architects, data scientists, and product owners are largely responsible for the AI-based forecasting, intelligent retailing, dynamic pricing, and personalized offer management that are revolutionizing the way that travel agencies worldwide interact with millions of consumers on a daily basis.

Kurt Ekert, President and CEO of Sabre, said: “The Sabre Bengaluru team’s 20-year journey demonstrates their innovative spirit, unwavering collaboration, and relentless drive to push the boundaries of what’s possible. They have consistently led from the front in pioneering the next generation of travel technology.”

Driving AI Innovation and Cloud Transformation in the Travel Industry

A culture that unifies product, engineering, design, operations, customer service, consulting, and delivery under one roof is the foundation of the center’s expansion. More customer-facing products and mission-critical systems have been turned over to Bengaluru GCC in recent years. Its input directly influences cloud migration, platform modernization, and the upcoming generation of AI-driven products, all of which have an impact on Sabre’s worldwide roadmap.

Shawn Williams, Chief Administrative Officer, Sabre, said: “Sabre Bengaluru GCC’s ability to turn challenges into opportunities has set a new benchmark for excellence. The team’s creativity and commitment to a vibrant and inclusive environment have driven growth throughout its 20-year journey, and I look forward to what they achieve in the next 20 years and beyond.”

Three elements form the foundation of Sabre Bengaluru GCC’s strategy for the future:

Deep-Tech Leadership: advancing AI, machine learning, cloud-native architectures, and platform modernization skills to enable intelligent offer management, dynamic pricing, and next-generation customization.

Talent & Culture: Increasing focus on leadership development, skill-building initiatives, and fostering an inclusive workplace that values innovation, teamwork, and lifelong learning.

Innovation Enablement: Promoting an entrepreneurial spirit through cross-functional innovation events and fast prototyping laboratories to jointly develop solutions with partners and clients.

“As we celebrate 20 years of innovation, growth, and impact in India, I am incredibly proud of the centre’s achievements and excited about the journey ahead,” said Rency Mathew, Managing Director, Sabre Bengaluru & People Leader, South Asia. “Our vision for the next decade is to fortify Bengaluru GCC not just as a centre of excellence for delivery, but as a key driver for strategic growth and innovation for Sabre globally. By investing in advanced AI, cloud, data science, and our people, we will continue to deliver measurable, strategic value that drives both top-line growth and operational efficiency.”

Since its founding in 2005, Sabre Bengaluru GCC has played a key role in enabling Sabre to dominate in a global market that is becoming more and more competitive, deliver more quickly, and expand more intelligently. Because of its contributions, cost structures have been optimized, allowing for more reinvestment in high-growth sectors like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and next-generation platforms. More significantly, the center has played a significant role in enabling several revenue-generating solutions for Sabre and its clients throughout the globe, solidifying Bengaluru’s position as a major hub for innovation and strategic expansion.
